The Wiper Patriotic Front, led by former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, has been accused of targeting a rally held by Labour CS Alfred Mutua.

In a statement, Mutua said he held a rally at Kiangini in Machakos County despite acts of violence from Wiper leaders and supporters.

“We held an invigorating and heart-warming rally at Kiangini despite acts of violence by Wiper Party leaders and supporters,” Mutua said.

Mutua claimed that A senior Wiper leader, including a former Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) blocked one of their vehicles on the highway.

He alleged that hired goons attacked the vehicle during the obstruction.

The CS said the attackers injured the driver and damaged the windscreen, windows, and sound system.

“Earlier in the day, one of our sound vehicles heading to the rally was blocked on the main highway by a senior Wiper leader, a former CAS and Chief Officer who also unsuccessfully contested for Parliament. This obstruction allowed hired goons to attack the vehicle with stones, damaging the windscreen and windows, destroying some of the sound equipment, and injuring the driver,” Mutua said.

Earlier, Mutua attended the Sunday service at AIC Manza in Mumbuni North Ward, Machakos Town.

“I was blessed by the powerful sermon delivered by Reverend Jerimiah Mwanzia Mulwa, who reminded us that ‘Everybody is a somebody.” It was an uplifting message that affirmed our worth in the eyes of God and underscored the importance of living a life of service,” he said.
