Step-by-Step: How to View IEBC By-Elections Results

Share

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is conducting by-elections on November 27, 2025, in various constituencies across the country.

The vacant seats were left vacant due to death, resignation, among other reasons.

IEBC has a system for transmitting provisional results electronically to an observation center, which is referred to as Results Transmission and Presentation (RTS).

According to the Commission, after the voting exercise has ended and votes have been counted and tallied, the Presiding Officers (Pos) enter the data on the signed results sheet (Form 35) into specially configured mobile phones and transmit the results simultaneously to the election results centres at the constituency, county, and national level.

How RTS is Used

Enhance transparency through the electronic transmission of provisional results from the polling stations

Display and visualize provisional results at the tally centers

Provide access to provisional elections data to media and other stakeholders in real time.

How to Check Results

Open the IEBC Official Portal

Open the official IEBC results portal, where you will be able to access tallies and images on the site; therefore, navigate to columns labeled “election results” or voting.

The portal is accessed by clicking iebc.or.ke.

Choose a Specific Area

You are supposed to navigate to your specific area and polling stations where by-elections have been conducted.

Here you will choose either constituency or ward, then view tallies.

In addition, you will see scanned images of presiding officers and results form, which includes (Form 34A / 35A), among others.

Check the Portal Totals

Do a cross-check with the portal Totals in relation to the scanned forms and returning officer announcements.
