U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a sweeping and permanent halt to migration from what he termed “all Third World countries,” issuing one of his most expansive immigration proposals to date in a lengthy Thanksgiving statement posted on November 28th, 2025.
Trump opened his remarks with a sharply worded holiday message aimed at what he described as years of political negligence on immigration.
“A very Happy Thanksgiving salutation to all of our Great American Citizens and Patriots… when it comes to Immigration,” he wrote, accusing past policies of allowing the United States to be “divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, and laughed at.”
He claimed the U.S. foreign-born population currently stands at 53 million, alleging, without providing evidence, that “most of which are on welfare, from failed nations, or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels.”
Trump said American taxpayers were carrying a “massive” financial burden that was “eating them alive.”
He further argued that refugees were driving what he termed social decline across the country.
“This refugee burden is the leading cause of social dysfunction in America,” Trump wrote, tying immigration to strained hospitals, struggling schools and urban decline.

Trump singled out Minnesota as an example of what he described as failed refugee integration, accusing Somalian refugees of overwhelming the state.
“Hundreds of thousands of refugees from Somalia are completely taking over the once great State of Minnesota,” he claimed.
He sharply criticized Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, calling him “seriously retarded,” wording likely to draw condemnation, and accused Representative Ilhan Omar of entering the country illegally, adding that she “does nothing but hatefully complain about our Country.”
These statements echoed longstanding tensions between Trump and the Minnesota congresswoman.
The most controversial portion of Trump’s statement outlined a dramatic shift in U.S. immigration policy.
He vowed to “permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries” to allow what he described as a “full recovery” of the American system.
Trump said he would “terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen,” referring to a claim that immigration documents were authorized without the president’s direct involvement.
His statement proposed sweeping removals, saying he would “remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States, or is incapable of loving our Country.”
He added that all federal benefits for noncitizens would end, and that migrants who “undermine domestic tranquility” would be denaturalized.
Trump further vowed to deport any foreign national deemed a “public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization,” describing these measures as essential to achieving a “major reduction in illegal and disruptive populations.”

Trump concluded by calling for what he termed “REVERSE MIGRATION,” claiming it was the only way to “cure” the country’s challenges.
He closed with a sharply worded holiday message: “Other than that, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything that America stands for.”
