Gachagua Signals His Next Political Move After DCP By-Election Wins

Former Deputy President and leader of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), Rigathi Gachagua has revealed the next move after DCP showed heated competition in Magarini area.

Stanley Karissa Kenga contested through the DCP in Magarini area.

In a statement posted on his X official account, Gachagua said the party may now access entry in the coastal region.

Gachagua said he will use this festive holiday to visit the Coastal region and engage with possible aspirants and even establish party offices.

“This now gives an entry into the Coast Region. I will be on the Coast over the holiday season to meet possible aspirants and establish party offices,” said Gachagua.

Gachagua Flexes About DCP

According to him, DCP’s performance in the November 27, 2025, by-elections is a clear indication that the party is progressing well.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) conducted by-elections across the country and later declared winners.

Gachagua added that DCP had no previous inroads in the Coast Region, and coming second is an outstanding performance.

“For a new party- @DCP_Democracy – with no previous inroads in the Coast Region region, a credible second is more than acceptable,” Gachagua stated.

Additionally, he extended heartfelt congratulations to Stanley for such strong attitude he showcased during the electoral process.

“Congratulations, Hon. Stanley Karissa Kenga, our candidate in Magharani for such a strong showing,” he added.

How DCP Party Performed in the By-elections

DCP party secured three seats in the previous elections, that is in Kariobangi North, Narok Town and Kisa East Wards.

The party was launched in May 2025.

In Kariobangi North Ward, DCP David Warui won with 2,282 votes, in  Kisa East Ward, Aduda Okwiri won with 1,952 votes, and Douglas Masikonde emerged victorious in Narok town ward by-election with 6,007 votes.

“Our party, making the newest kid in the Block, which is seven months old, whitewashed old parties some old as twenty years,” Former DP stated.
