The Odinga family has appealed to well-wishers and the public for financial support to help cover the burial expenses for the late Beryl Achieng Odinga.

The Odinga family has appealed to well-wishers and the public for financial support to help cover the burial expenses for the late Beryl Achieng Odinga.

In a statement, Kisumu Women Representative and Achieng’s sister, Ruth Odinga, said a holy Mass and mini fundraiser will be conducted on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

According to the notice, the events will be held at House no.5, Mwingi Villas, Mwingi Road, Kileleshwa from 4 p.m.

“Join us for an evening of prayer, remembrance, and support as we honour the life and legacy of Beryl Achieng Odinga. Together, we extend our heartfelt comfort and solidarity to the family she loved so dearly,” reads part of the notice.

Kenyans can support the Odinga family by sending contributions to the Beryl Achieng Odinga Funeral Fund, Paybill: 8002413, with the account name as your full name.

“With love, please send your support to: Beryl Achieng Odinga Funeral Fund, Paybill: 8002413 and A/C Name: Your Full Name,” the Family said.

Beryl Odinga Profile

Achieng was the fourth-born in the Odinga family after Dr. Oburu Odinga, late Raila Odinga, the late Ngire Omuodo Agola, and Dr. Akinyi Wenwa.

She was the mother to Ami Auma, Chizi, and Taurai.

She stands out as a trained professional from the Odinga family who has held leadership roles across public institutions.

Achieng trained both as a teacher and a lawyer after completing her Form Six studies in December 1972.

She made history as the first Black Town Clerk of Mutare, Zimbabwe’s third-largest city.

In 2020, Beryl was appointed Chairperson of the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company (NWSC).

Achieng died on November 25, 2025.
