Makadara Member of Parliament (MP) George Aladwa has responded to claims by CCK Party leader Moses Kuria that he would be his running mate for the Nairobi gubernatorial race in 2027.
Speaking on December 2, Aladwa said he will not deputize Kuria and will instead run for the gubernatorial seat under the ODM Party ticket.
“I have said that I will not be Moses Kuria’s deputy; I will be vying for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat under the ODM party in 2027,” Aladwa said.
Kuria announced his running mate as he plans to unseat Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja in 2027.
In a poster on his social media platforms, Kuria named Makadara Member of Parliament (MP) George Aladwa as his preferred running mate in the Nairobi gubernatorial race.
Kuria said their alliance is not built on tribal affiliations but on shared commitment to Nairobi.
He emphasized that the partnership is not driven by political parties, but by a genuine desire to improve Nairobi.
Kuria noted that they understand the challenges Nairobi residents face and are united by a common mission to address them.

He reiterated that the alliance rejects tribal politics and is anchored on competence and service.
Kuria said they have what it takes to ‘make Nairobi work again.’
“Not because of our tribes. Not because of our parties. Because we care for Nairobi Because we understand what Nairobians are going through. Because we have local, regional, and global networks to fix Nairobi. Because we have many years of combined leadership and managerial experience, because we are not tribal, because we have what it takes to MAKE NAIROBI WORK AGAIN,” Kuria said.
However, Aladwa, who is also Nairobi County ODM Chairman, has not hinted or publicly declared that he will work with Moses Kuria in 2027.
