Activist Bob Njagi has reportedly been arrested by the police in Kitengela, Kajiado County, over allegations of incitement of the June 25 2026 Gen Z anniversary demonstrations.
Reports circulating on social media say that the arrest is linked to his alleged mobilisation efforts ahead of the planned protests to commemorate those who died in the protests.
The arrest comes during the tension and security preparations ahead of the June 25 anniversary protests, which is expected to mark two years since the historic Gen Z led anti finance bill protests.
Njagi is a prominent activist who gained national attention after his alleged abduction in 2024 after participating in anti finance bill demonstrations.

Notice For Demonstrations
On the other hand, Nairobi police boss Issa Mohamud says that no notice has been filed for the June 25 planned demonstrations.
He then urged people to stay away from Nairobi CBD. In order for a protest to take place a formal notice must be filed to the police in accordance to the constitution.
More details regarding the arrest of Njagi are expected to emerge as things continue to unfold.
Netizens are questioning the arrest saying that such arrests are usually made to confuse the public ahead of such demonstrations.
