Management of BBS Mall has released a statement concerning social media claims of restrictions imposed on bodaboda operations around the mall premises.
In its statement, the management addresses rumors being spread on social media networks and offers a clarifying statement concerning bodaboda operations in the vicinity of the mall.
According to the management of the mall, the claims made on social media about restrictions placed on bodaboda operations around the mall were not true.
The management says that the claim was caused by misinterpretations of what had been done in terms of transport zoning around the mall.
“We have noted claims on social media regarding bodaboda operations in the area of BBS Mall and would like to make some clarifications,” BBS stated.
In explaining the restrictions imposed on bodaboda operations, the management says that zoning of transport facilities in the mall is necessary for ensuring the smooth flow of traffic into the mall.
BBS Mall emphasizes that the strategy is based on the concept of urban traffic control, where the various types of vehicles have their own zones to optimize efficiency and ensure safety.
The clarification points out that bodaboda riders are not excluded but are expected to operate within clearly defined boundaries.

“BBS Mall has designated specific areas for different modes of transport to ensure the safety, security, and smooth flow of traffic for all visitors. Bodabodas are welcome to operate within their assigned zones; however, the concerns raised stem from instances where they access areas reserved for taxis,” BBS said.
Additionally, the management also tackles issues relating to inclusivity and collaboration, showing its readiness to cooperate with the bodaboda riders and the general public.
The matter takes place following increased awareness in Nairobi about access for informal and semiformal transport operators in business centers.

“Our approach is not to restrict access, but to maintain order and protect all road users. We remain committed to engaging constructively with bodaboda operators and the wider community to ensure clarity, cooperation, and a safe environment for everyone,” BBS Mall concluded.
