Brokies React as TikTok Permanently Bans Onyango Tate’s Account

Forex trader Onyango Tate has been forced to start afresh on TikTok after the platform permanently banned his account, prompting mixed reactions from followers and critics.
Tate announced the development in a video posted on Tuesday, September 22, in which he addressed the ban and directed his followers to a new account named Onyango Tate FX.
Reacting to the ban, Tate expressed disbelief that TikTok had taken down his account despite the financial content he had been sharing on the platform.
“Jesus! Jesus! Congratulations to you TikTok, for finally bringing me down upon all the financial wisdom I upload on this platform you decided to ban me,” Onyango Tate said.
Onyango Tate Announces New TikTok Account
Following the ban, Tate urged his followers to move to his new account as he prepared to continue creating content on the platform.
He encouraged his audience to follow the new page and support him as he started again.
“Now, follow this new account, we are starting afresh. Yeah, follow this account, we are starting afresh, Onyango Tate FX. End video,” Tate said.
Soon after the announcement, TikTok users flooded the post with reactions, with some supporting the trader while others mocked him over the loss of his account.
Fans React to Tate’s Account Ban
Among the reactions, one user took aim at Tate’s description of his followers as “brokies,” joking about the trader’s financial-content persona.
“The billionaire telling brokies to follow him,” Stan additicha commented.
Meanwhile, V….. encouraged users to continue following Tate for the financial content that had attracted his audience.
“Follow for Financial wisdom,” the user commented.

Beyond the jokes about the ban, some followers also questioned whether the new account was genuinely operated by Tate.
Sammie challenged Tate to prove that the new account was legitimate by appearing live on TikTok.
“Go live we know the legit account,” the user commented.
Elsewhere, Vicky focused on Tate’s previous use of the term “brokies” while reacting to his latest development.
She urged the trader to avoid using the term again, writing, “Never call people brokies again.”
Additionally, another commenter mocked Tate as he attempted to rebuild his TikTok presence following the ban.
“Waah karibu content yako iishe,” ~GODE commented.
TikTok Steps Up Account Enforcement
Tate’s account ban comes amid increased enforcement activity on TikTok, with the platform recently taking action against high-profile accounts and millions of pieces of content.
In Nigeria, TikTok permanently banned popular content creator Carter Efe’s main account, which had more than 5.6 million followers.
Reports attributed the ban to repeated violations of the platform’s Community Guidelines.

Kenya has also recorded enforcement activity on the platform as TikTok reported removing 884,591 videos from Kenyan accounts during the first quarter of 2026 after finding that they violated its Community Guidelines.
The platform said 99.7% of the videos were detected proactively, while 96.3% were removed within 24 hours.
During the same period, TikTok said it banned 48,739 accounts suspected of belonging to users below the age of 13 and interrupted 103,847 LIVE sessions in Kenya over Community Guidelines violations.
However, Tate did not disclose the specific reason TikTok gave for permanently banning his account in the video.
Instead, he directed his followers to the new Onyango Tate FX account, signalling his intention to continue sharing financial content on the platform.
