Chaos Erupts at Kindiki Rally in Embu as Vehicles Set Ablaze, Several Feared Dead

Several people are feared dead after chaos broke out during a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) mobilisation meeting at Nembure Stadium in Manyatta Constituency, Embu County, on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki was reportedly evacuated from the venue after the situation deteriorated during the meeting, which brought together UDA polling centre officials as part of the party’s mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The unrest also resulted in several vehicles being set on fire, with journalists covering the event among those affected.

Reports from the scene indicated that some media personnel escaped unharmed despite their vehicles being torched.
