Chaos in Church as Pastor Bites Worshipper During Physical Fight

A Uganda church service at All Saints Church Abim turned chaotic after a pastor and a worshipper got into a physical fight during the service.

In an undated video,the confrontation began after a man approached the pulpit and appeared to want to address the congregation, but the pastor stopped him from speaking.

The incident was captured on video, with several worshippers later reacting to the unusual confrontation.

Uganda Church Pastor Refuses to Let Worshipper Speak

The man approached the pulpit and wanted to speak to the congregation without the pastor’s permission.

“Excuse me,” the pastor said.

“Excuse me for what? I want to speak,” the worshipper responded.

Pastor firmly refused to allow him to address the congregation.

“You are not going to speak, and I’m telling you, you are not going to speak,” he said.

The pastor then accused the man of being a dictator while referring to children being brought to sing.

“You bring the children to sing. You are a dictator. You will not speak,” the pastor said.

The worshipper denied the accusation, saying, “I’m not a dictator” and the pastor continued to insist that he would not allow the man to speak.

“You are not going to speak; let me tell you. You won’t,” he said.

He also asserted his authority before ordering the worshipper to leave,“I am the authority here. I am the authority, and I’m not going to allow you to talk. You can go out, by the way. You are not going to talk.”

Dispute Turns into Physical Fight

The heated exchange soon turned physical. The worshipper was seen grabbing the pastor around the neck, appearing to strangle him as the two struggled.

The clergyman then bit the worshipper during the confrontation, with the fight continuing as members of the congregation moved towards the two men. Commotion spread through the church as worshippers attempted to separate them and restore order.

Reactions Emerge after Church Confrontation

The unusual scene sparked mixed reactions online, with some people questioning how the confrontation was allowed to escalate inside a church.

The Oligarch questioned the response of the congregation, writing, “This church has no men?” He said the incident quickly became physical after the man interrupted the service and added that “only the women rushed to rescue their clergyman.”

Eco described the incident as a sign of difficult times, writing, “This are the end times. Words were not powerful enough, the hands started talking in a language that the platform did not understand.”

Jaoko majored on the wider relationship between religious leaders and their congregations, writing, “A priest gets beaten up in church by congregants!” He added that religious leaders were facing challenging times and described the incident as part of what he called a “revolution.”

Vex reacted to the physical confrontation with humour, writing, “Never seen a preacher loose their temper that fast😂😂that slap wa necessary though.”

Henry claimed that the man was the LC II Chairperson who wanted to make a security announcement without the Reverend’s permission at All Saints Abim.

“LC II Chairperson wanted to make a security announcement without Rev’s permission at All Saints Abim… it ended in a fist fight🙏 – This generation 😲,” Henry wrote.

David wrote, “Is it comedy or is it real? I’m still wondering. A whole pastor fighting in the church. It is hard to believe it happened.”
