The court has cleared Racheal Wandeto’s family to bury her after a three-week morgue delay after husband’s disappearance, with the burial permit.

Speaking on June 10, the family’s lawyer said the family of Racheal can now bury her after waiting for three weeks.

“We all know what happened to Madam Rachel Wandeto, and today this morning the court has clearly given us the go-ahead to bury Madam Rachel Wandeto,” he said.

Racheal Wandeto’s body had remained in the morgue for that long because there was a court case on who was supposed to bury her.

Court Case

Peter Jaraba, who was claiming that he was Racheal’s husband, wanted to take the responsibility of laying her to rest.

The conflict arose when Racheal’s family wanted to bury her, and the matter went to court, where the court had to put a hold on the burial until a decision was made.

“The court was categorical in that although Peter Jaraba was the father of the two children that were left behind, that in itself is not enough to prove that he has to be released from the body,” the family’s lawyer said.

The court proved that there was no customary marriage that was done, and therefore, the family still remains as the only people who are supposed to bury Rachel Wandeto.

Death Of Racheal

Racheal tragically died after she was burnt by some unknown assailants because she had tattooed President William Ruto’s on her body.

After the incident, she was taken to the hospital, but she later succumbed due to the injuries that she had sustained during the ordeal.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said a specialized homicide team took over the case after she died from severe burn injuries sustained during the attack.

The DCI had identified a person of interest in the case, and the investigation is still ongoing even as her family continues to demand justice.
