DCI Hunts for Man After Court Issues Arrest Warrants

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a search for Albert Komen Kipkechem after the Milimani Law Courts issued warrants of arrest against him.

In a notice dated September 21,  the DCI said Komen Kipkechem is wanted after failing to attend subsequent court sessions in cases in which he is facing charges under the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is seeking the whereabouts of ALBERT KOMEN KIPKECHEM, who is wanted pursuant to warrants of arrest issued by the Milimani Law Courts,” DCI stated.

The detectives said Komen was charged before the Milimani Law Courts on March 3 and March 12, 2026.

He was charged with Access with Intent to Commit a Further Offence, contrary to Section 15(1), and Computer Fraud, contrary to Section 26(1)(b) as read with Section 2(a) of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act No. 5 of 2018.

“Komen was charged at the Milimani Law Courts on 3rd and 12th March 2026 with offences of Access with Intent to Commit a Further Offence, contrary to Section 15(1), and Computer Fraud, contrary to Section 26(1)(b) as read with Section 2(a) of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act No. 5 of 2018,” DCI stated.

Following the charges, Komen Kipkechem was granted cash bail of Ksh1.5 million and Ksh500,000 in the two matters.

However, the DCI said he later failed to attend court for subsequent proceedings, resulting in the issuance of warrants of arrest by the Milimani Law Courts, prompting the DCI to seek his whereabouts.

“He was subsequently granted cash bail of Kshs. 1.5 million and Kshs. 500,000, respectively. However, he failed to attend subsequent court sessions, resulting in the issuance of warrants of arrest against him.”

Details About His Home Details

To help in tracing his whereabouts, DCI listed Komen’s home particulars as Baringo County, Baringo North Sub-County, Kabartonjo Division, Ossien Location and Kaptum Sub-Location. His place of residence was identified as Kabarak.

The DCI has appealed to members of the public with information on his whereabouts to report it to the authorities.
