Detectives Arrest Suspect and Recover Stolen Firearm & Ammunition

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested a 42-year-old suspect and recovered a stolen firearm following an operation conducted by detectives from Embakasi.
Acting on intelligence leads and guided by forensic analysis, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Embakasi, under the command of the SCCIO Embakasi, mounted a swift and coordinated operation following the reported theft of a firearm belonging to a licensed firearm holder.
The operation culminated in the arrest of the prime suspect, identified as John Bosco Munyao, within Nairobi’s Central Business District.
Firearm Recovered By DCI From Kangemi Residence
According to investigators, the suspect subsequently led detectives to his residence in Kangemi, where a search was conducted.
“Acting on intelligence leads and guided by painstaking forensic analysis, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Embakasi, under the command of the SCCIO Embakasi, mounted a swift and coordinated operation following the reported theft of a firearm belonging to a licensed firearm holder,” the investigators stated.
During the search, detectives recovered the stolen Glock pistol, which had been concealed inside a suitcase among clothes.
Police further recovered seventeen rounds of ammunition and two magazines believed to be linked to the stolen firearm.
The exhibits were seized and documented as part of ongoing investigations.
“The operation culminated in the arrest of the prime suspect, a 42-year-old man identified as John Bosco Munyao, within Nairobi’s Central Business District,” the investigators added.

Suspect Remains in Custody
Authorities said the suspect cooperated with detectives after his arrest and directed officers to the location where the firearm had been hidden.
“Upon arrest, the suspect led detectives to his residence in Kangemi, where they recovered the stolen Glock pistol, concealed inside a suitcase among clothes. Also recovered were seventeen (17) rounds of ammunition and two magazines,” the statement said.

Investigators have since secured the firearm, ammunition, and magazines as exhibits pending further forensic examination and presentation in court.
“The recovered firearm and ammunition have been secured as exhibits, while the suspect remains in lawful custody pending arraignment in court,” detectives confirmed.
