Former Athlete Beatrice Wainarua Appeals for Help as Kenyans Rally to Support Her

Kenyans have rallied behind an athlete named Beatrice Wainarua by supporting her financially after her supporters shared details of the hardships she is facing while ill.

The story of Beatrice has been making the rounds online after one of her supporters decided to help her ask for help online because she is sick and has a child who also lacks basic needs.

According to her supporters, Beatrice was previously married in Embu, where she reportedly fell ill after becoming a mother to one daughter.

They claim that after her illness, her husband moved the family into a rental house before allegedly leaving her, saying her condition had become a financial burden.

Her Husband Left

After her husband left her with their daughter, she relocated to a one-room rental house in Kerugoya, where she is currently living with her child.

However, she is struggling financially because she is sick and cannot go to work; her child was sent back home from school over unpaid school fees.

Beatrice called her husband to ask for the child’s school fees, but the husband only sent Ksh 600, which was not of great help to both of them.

Those seeking help for her describe Beatrice as someone who once supported her family financially when she was financially stable and healthy.

She Had Bought Land

They claim she bought land in Kiamaina, Nyahururu, while she was in Japan and helped educate her siblings during her athletics career.

Many people online are now calling for the land to be returned to her, with supporters saying they hope to build her a house there as part of efforts to help her regain stability.

This financial appeal has attracted growing attention online, with many Kenyans expressing sympathy and calling on well-wishers to support the former athlete as she seeks to rebuild her life and get back on her feet.

Samuel said, “This is not a matter of joking with this issue. She bought land for her family who later abandoned her. Is she the person whose title deed reflects. She has a right to live on what she has acquired.”

“First, before anything else, is the sickness treatable? So we can start from her getting treatment, then other things follow,” Kammie said.

Kibe said, “The husband should remember that he is not a stone. He will one day be sick, and he will be left the same way.”

“Family members, most of them praise you when you are helping them, but once you go down they abandon you and badmouth you,” Moraa said.

As people continue to support her, Beatrice has not come online to speak about the matter or about her illness.
