GTBank Kenya Announces Exit of Managing Director Jubril Adeniji

Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank Kenya) Limited has announced the planned leadership transition of its Managing Director, Jubril Adeniji, following the end of his tenure and his recall to Guaranty Trust Bank Limited in Nigeria.
In an official statement released on July 20, the bank’s Board of Directors said the transition marks the conclusion of Adeniji’s leadership in Kenya and begins the process of appointing a new Managing Director.
The Board praised Adeniji for his contributions to the bank during his tenure, saying he played a key role in strengthening the institution.
According to the statement, the bank improved its shareholder and governance framework, enhanced the quality of its earnings asset portfolio, strengthened its internal control environment, and implemented a strategic plan aimed at growing market share.
The Board also noted that the bank strengthened its leadership team and workforce to support its long-term sustainability.
“The Board extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Adeniji for his contribution, leadership and dedicated service to GTBank Kenya during his tenure.”

Leadership Transition to Take Place Over 90 Days
To ensure a smooth leadership handover, Adeniji will continue serving as Managing Director for the next 90 days.
During this period, the bank will complete the transition process while seeking the necessary regulatory approvals for the appointment of a new Managing Director.
“To ensure a seamless leadership transition and effective handover, Mr. Adeniji will continue to serve as Managing Director over the next 90 days.”

Bank Assures Customers of Stable Operations
The Board assured customers, employees, regulators, shareholders and other stakeholders that the leadership change will not affect the bank’s operations.
It said GTBank Kenya will continue offering banking services without interruption while remaining focused on delivering value to its customers and stakeholders.
“GTBank Kenya’s operations remain stable and uninterrupted. The Bank remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering exceptional banking services and creating sustainable value for all stakeholders.”
