How to Buy Kenya Power Tokens Using the MyPower App

Step 1: Download the MyPower App

Download the MyPower app from the Google Play Store and install it on your smartphone.

Step 2: Register an Account

After installing the app:

Open the app and select Sign Up.
Enter your ID number and accept the terms and conditions.
Fill in your first name, last name, phone number, and email address.
Create a password that:

Has at least six characters.

Contains at least one uppercase letter.

Includes at least one number.

Has at least one special character.

Confirm your password and submit.

An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your phone number to verify your account. Once verified, your registration will be complete.

Step 3: Log In

Use your registered email address and password to log in to the app.

Step 4: Access the Buy Tokens Option

After logging in, you will be taken to the dashboard, where you can access various services, including:

One of the most popular options is M-Pesa. Customers only need to use Paybill number 888880, enter their 11-digit meter number as the account number, and complete the payment.

The token number is usually sent through SMS immediately after a successful transaction.

Customers can also buy tokens using Kenya Power’s USSD service by dialling *977#. The service works on both smartphones and basic mobile phones.

Users simply follow the prompts, enter their meter number and amount, then complete the payment.

In addition, several banks in Kenya, including Equity Bank, KCB Bank, NCBA, and Co-operative Bank, allow customers to buy electricity tokens through their mobile banking apps and USSD services.
