Kenya Power Announces 5-Hour Disruption for System Maintenance

Kenya Power has announced a five-hour disruption to telephone services at its contact centre as the utility company prepares to carry out system maintenance on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

The maintenance will run from midnight to 5:00 a.m., temporarily preventing customers from contacting the company through telephone calls.

“Dear Esteemed Customer, Please note that we will carry out a system maintenance on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 12:00 a.m (midnight) to 5:00 a.m. As a result, access to our contact centre through telephone calls will be unavailable,” the utility company stated.

Kenya Power Lists Alternative Communication Channels

However, the disruption will only affect telephone calls to the contact centre, allowing customers to continue seeking assistance through alternative platforms.

“However, all other communication channels including emails, social media, *977# and MyPower App, among others, will be available,” the company added.

Customers who need assistance during the maintenance period can use Kenya Power’s email services and social media platforms to contact the company.

Additionally, they can access available services through the *977# USSD code and the MyPower App, which will remain operational during the scheduled maintenance.

Other Ways to Reach the Utility Company 

Beyond these options, customers can visit the company’s official website, www.kplc.co.ke, for information about its services.

Other listed contact options include the 97771 customer service number and the Kenya Power Care Facebook page.

Meanwhile, customers can follow the company’s official X account, @KenyaPower, for updates and announcements.

In its notice, the company apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by the planned maintenance.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” the company stated.
