The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced scheduled maintenance of its website on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. The maintenance will affect all users accessing the KRA website during the stated period.

According to KRA, the maintenance will begin at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, and end at 8:00 pm on the same day. The exercise is expected to take three hours, during which the KRA website will be unavailable.

“Please be advised that there will be scheduled maintenance of the KRA Website from Tuesday, 22nd September 2026, 5:00 PM to Tuesday, 22nd September 2026, 8:00 PM.”

KRA Apologises for Inconvenience

KRA said the maintenance will affect all KRA website users. The tax authority asked users to take note of the scheduled downtime as it carries out the maintenance.

KRA also apologised for any inconvenience caused by the temporary unavailability of its website.

“We regret any inconvenience caused,” KRA said.

Maintenance Follows Recent iTax Downtime

The scheduled website maintenance comes a day after KRA restored its iTax portal following a period of downtime.

In an update issued on Monday, September 21, KRA said iTax services had been fully restored, allowing taxpayers to resume filing returns and making tax payments.

KRA’s website provides access to various tax-related services, including iTax, the Integrated Customs Management System (iCMS) and the Electronic Tax Invoice Management System (eTIMS). It also provides tax-filing tutorials and other taxpayer resources.

Tax Amnesty Services Available on iTax

The latest website maintenance also comes as KRA continues to roll out digital services for taxpayers. On September 22, KRA listed the activation of the Tax Amnesty functionality on iTax among its latest updates. The authority has also published guidelines to help taxpayers access and use the functionality.

The 2026 Tax Amnesty Programme runs until December 31, 2026, and covers qualifying interest, penalties and fines relating to tax liabilities accrued up to December 31, 2025.

Eligible taxpayers can access the relief through iTax after meeting the applicable requirements, including settling qualifying principal tax where required. KRA has urged taxpayers to take advantage of the programme before the deadline.
