Titus Guandaru Named Company Secretary at Liberty Kenya

Liberty Kenya Holdings PLC has appointed Titus Guandaru as its new Company Secretary, effective July 1, 2026, following the resignation of Mueni Mutunga.

In a notice dated July 1, Richard Etemesi, Group Chairman of Liberty Kenya, announced that Mutunga had resigned from her position as Company Secretary effective June 30, 2026.

The board expressed its appreciation for her service, thanking her for her contribution to the company and wishing her success in her future endeavors.

“The board of directors of Liberty Kenya Holdings PLC (The Company) announces that Ms. Mueni Mutunga resigned as the Company Secretary effective 30 June 2026. The board thanks Ms. Mutunga for her service and wishes her the best in her future endeavours,” read part of the notice.

Liberty Kenya Names Titus Guandaru New Company Secretary

Following his appointment, the board expressed confidence in his appointment, noting that it looks forward to his support in the role.

“The board wishes Mr. Guandaru all the best in his role as Company Secretary and looks forward to his support,” the company stated.

Titus Guandary is a practicing member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) and a qualified Certified Public Secretary (CPS).

He is also the head of Company Secretarial Practice at the Nairobi-based law firm CMS Daly & Inamdar Advocates.

According to Liberty Kenya, Titus Guandary brings more than 10 years of experience in corporate governance, company secretarial practice, and regulatory compliance.

Over the years, he has built extensive expertise in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and company secretarial practice.

Profile of Mueni Mutunga, Former Company Secretary

Mueni Mutunga has over 30 years of experience providing in-house legal counsel on a range of business, corporate, commercial, ethics, and compliance matters.

Throughout her career, she has built a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, delivering complex legal projects, and adapting to evolving organizational priorities.

She is also recognized for aligning board decision-making with regulatory frameworks and is regarded as a thought leader in governance reforms, institutional strengthening, and boardroom diplomacy.

Mueni holds a Master of Laws in Oil and Gas Law from Strathmore University, a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi, as well as a Diploma in Legal Practice.

She is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Secretaries and a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
