Makueni County Announces 43 Job Vacancies: How to Apply

The Makueni County Public Service Board has opened applications for 43 job vacancies across key departments, allowing qualified candidates to join the county government in various professional and technical roles.

The board emphasized the legal framework guiding the recruitment and its commitment to strengthening public service delivery.

“Makueni County Public Service Board wishes to recruit a competent and qualified person to fill the following vacant position as per Article 176 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and Section 59 of the County Governments’ Act 2012,” Makueni County Board stated.

Vacancies across key departments in Makueni County

To begin with, the Makueni County Public Service Board has strategically distributed the vacancies across various departments to enhance efficiency, governance, and service delivery.

First, the Office of the Governor aims to strengthen leadership and coordination by recruiting professionals who will drive policy implementation and improve intergovernmental relations.

The positions are:

• Chief Officer: Education and Internship — Job Group S — 1 Position
• Chief Officer: ICT — Job Group S — 1 Position
• Strategic Partnership and Inter-governmental Relations Officer I: Job Group K — 1 Position

Next, the Department of ICT, Education and Internship focuses on expanding early childhood education and strengthening digital capacity within the county. The department has advertised 20 vacancies:

• Graduate ECDE Teacher: Job Group K — 1 Position
• ECDE Teacher III: Job Group H — 19 Positions

Vacancies are available across ECDE centres listed on the Board’s website, and teachers currently serving in the listed centres will have an added advantage.

Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Co-operatives Development

At the same time, the agriculture department aims to boost productivity and oversight by filling critical technical roles.

Meanwhile, the health department seeks to strengthen specialized medical services by recruiting experts in key fields.

Department of Devolution, Public Participation, County Administration and Special Programmes

In addition, the county has prioritized grassroots administration and emergency response through multiple openings in this department.

• Director: County Enforcement and Compliance — Job Group R — 1 Position
• Ward Administrator: Ukia Ward — Job Group J — 1 Position
• Community Development Officer II: Kikumbulyu Ward — Job Group J — 1 Position
• Village Administrator III (Re-advertisement): Job Group H — 3 Positions (Kitise Village – Kitise/Kithuki Ward; Kathulumbi Village – Kalawa Ward; Ngulu Village – Kikumbulyu North Ward)Fire Fighter III (Re-advertisement) — Job Group E — 4 Positions
• Enforcement Constable: Job Group E — 1 Position
• Fire Engine Driver: Job Group D — 1 Position
