Ministry of Agriculture Announces 354 Vacancies, Including Driver and Cook Positions

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has announced mass job opportunities.

In a notice dated Tuesday, February 3, 2026, the ministry advertised 354 job vacancies across 10 positions, inviting qualified persons to apply.

“Applications are invited from qualified persons for the vacant positions advertised in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, State Department for Livestock Development, as indicated below,” read part of the notice.

The positions advertised will run on a period of one year contract.

According to the notice, the 10 advertised positions with 354 vacancies are as follows:

Among the positions advertised is Clerical Officer II, whose responsibilities include organising both physical and digital filing systems to ensure efficient record management, handling and distributing incoming communications, and drafting routine documents such as letters, memos, and reports. The role also involves data entry, updating records, and ensuring information is accurately documented and easily accessible.

For driver and plant operator positions, responsibilities include operating approved vehicles to transport personnel, equipment, or materials, conducting regular vehicle inspections, and ensuring vehicles are maintained in proper working condition. Drivers and plant operators will also be required to keep accurate records of journeys, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.

The Ministry of Agriculture further directed applicants seeking more details on job requirements to visit the State Department’s website at www.kilimo.go.ke or gaa.go.ke.

How to Apply

Interested and qualified candidates are required to submit their applications by completing one (1) PSC Form 2 (Revised 2016), which can be downloaded from the Public Service Commission website www.publicservice.go.ke.

Candidates were further issued with the following instructions:

  • Applicants must strictly apply for only one post.
  • All details requested in the advertisement must be provided. It is an offence to include false information.
  • Academic and professional certificates obtained after the closure of the advert should not be included.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
  • Canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification.
  • The State Department is committed to fair competition, merit, inclusivity, and equal employment opportunities in line with Article 232(1) of the Constitution. Persons with disabilities, marginalised groups, and minorities are encouraged to apply.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce original documents during interviews, including national identity cards and academic and professional certificates.
  • Presenting fake documents is a criminal offence.
  • Applicants are warned against fraudsters soliciting bribes while masquerading as State Department staff. The State Department does not charge any fees for job applications, shortlisting, interviews, or appointments.
