NTSA Announces Three-Day Shutdown of Digital Systems for Scheduled Maintenance

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has announced a temporary shutdown of its online systems this weekend to allow for scheduled preventive maintenance.
According to a notice issued by the authority’s Director General, the system downtime will begin on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 8:00 pm and continue until Monday, July 20, 2026, at 8:00 am. During this period, users will not access NTSA digital services.
“The is to inform all our stakeholders that the NTSA system will have scheduled preventive maintenance on Friday, 17th July 2026 (8pm) to Monday, 20th July 2026 (8am),” the authority said in the notice.
NTSA Services to Be Affected During Maintenance
As a result of the shutdown, Kenyans will miss access to several essential NTSA services. These include driving licence applications and renewals, motor vehicle registration and ownership transfers, as well as vehicle inspection bookings and issuance of inspection certificates.

Additionally, motorists will not process traffic fine payments or apply for Public Service Vehicle (PSV) licences and badges.
Vehicle search and verification services will also remain unavailable, affecting individuals and businesses that rely on timely records for transactions and compliance.
Public Asked to Plan Ahead
To minimize disruption, the authority has urged users to complete any urgent transactions before the maintenance window begins. This approach will help reduce delays, especially for time-sensitive services.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may be caused and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to offer quality services to you,” the authority stated.
Meanwhile, the authority advised stakeholders to use official communication channels for inquiries and to seek in-person assistance after systems resume.

Through this maintenance exercise, the authority aims to enhance system stability and improve overall service delivery.
