Outrage as Boy Caught on Camera Fighting His Mother

A viral video that has been making rounds on various social media platforms in recent days has caused outrage amongst Kenyans following an altercation between a teenage boy and his mother in Uganda.

The clip has elicited a heated debate about child upbringing, disciplining, and behavior of teenagers throughout East Africa.

According to the video, the teenage boy is seen involved in a physical fight with his mother in a bid to gain control over the matter, without either party relenting at first.

While the mother is trying to remain calm, the teen boy looks very irritated and continues fighting until he ends up being beaten by his mother with several slaps and kicks.

Public Outcry on Social Media

Online reactions have been sharply divided, with many users expressing concern over the boy’s behaviour and questioning the role of parenting and absent father figures.

“Where is the father? The boy has been poorly raised. He has been thought to beat his mum or elder ones and it is wrong. He needs a father figure who can reset his brain and instill the right discipline in him else he will be a torn in the flesh of his mom and the society at large,” One user X, @TonyBanks, wrote.

Others, however, suggested that behaviour may not be solely shaped by upbringing.

“There are people who are inherently stubborn or evil that no matter how great a parent you are, they just remain who they naturally are,” @Bestatwine commented

A section of users linked the incident to harsh parenting methods.

“This is the results of beating your kids everyday, one day he / she will return the clap or fist. Once done, always done,” @Phuthego stated.

Debate on Discipline and Authority

The discussion also extended to methods of discipline, with @dauntlesseskimo questioning the confrontation itself.

“How do you go in a boxing match with your child, keep a Cain aside and Cain him like the teachers do at school, why bring yourself to their level?”

On the other hand, some users expressed strong disapproval of the boy’s actions.

“And in my opinion? She was still being too soft cause he would’ve touched every wall in that house. To even be brave enough to raise your hand at your parent is utterly insane,” @arrogantbrawdd stated.

Concerns over future escalation were also raised.

“Give him 3 more years to add more muscles and height. The next provocation will be the end of that mother if nothing is done urgently,” @ivoh_ivoh warned.

Calls for Urgent Intervention

Some commenters urged immediate corrective action and stronger family discipline structures.

@WabiWaja said: “As a father, this kind of nonsense is not happening under my roof. The kid will stop that nonsense forthwith.”

Others reflected on behavioural development and justice systems.

“These are the ones who are charged with serious crimes before they even finish high school, and to fix this one while there’s still time, urgent intervention is needed,” @Sli_simelane warned.

Meanwhile, @bundu_vibes added a more cautionary view: “She’s only showing him violence is justice. One day she’ll lose the upperhand, and he grows up to be a real monster, befriending other monsters.”
