Popular Tamarind Brasserie Shuts Down

Share

Tamarind Group has informed us about the shutdown of their Tamarind Brasserie Restaurant situated at Dari Business Park due to some legal issues that have prevented them from accessing the location.

This news was officially conveyed via a press release published on April 27, 2026, by Chairman Gerson M. Misumi.

The company confirmed that the shutdown was not voluntary but necessitated by external circumstances affecting its ability to operate.

“We wish to inform our esteemed customers and the general public that we have been compelled to close the Tamarind Brasserie Restaurant located at Dari Business Park,” the management said.

According to the notice, the closure stems from a legal and operational standoff involving property stakeholders.

“This decision arises from an ongoing dispute between Dari Limited and the East African Development Bank, which has unfortunately resulted in our inability to access the premises,” the statement read.

Operational Stopping by Dispute

The example highlights how disputes can affect business operations in the hospitality industry in Nairobi.

As Tamarind Brasserie had already earned a name as a popular eating place in Dari Business Park, the lack of access to the rented property meant that it was unable to continue its operations.

Regarding the inconvenience that the management of Tamarind Brasserie would be causing its clients, they said, “We apologize for the inconvenience this might cause us and sincerely thank our dear clients for their tolerance.”

The company also thanked its clients, saying, “We also thank our dear clients for the loyalty shown to us throughout.”

Other Tamarind Outlets Remain Open

Reassuring customers, the group emphasized that the disruption is isolated to the Dari Business Park branch.

“In the meantime, we are pleased to confirm that all our other Tamarind Group establishments remain fully operational and ready to serve you,” the statement added.

Such a clarification is important to the brand’s operation since it suggests that the overall business is not affected by this particular development.

On an optimistic note, the press release ended with the following sentence: “Thank you for your continued support.”
