Sean John Combs, who is popularly known as Diddy, is an American rapper, record producer, fashion executive and entrepreneur who has been one of the most influential figures in entertainment.
Diddy was born on November 4, 1969, in Harlem, New York City, and was raised in Mount Vernon after his father, Melvin Earl Combs, was killed when Diddy was still a child.
He attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he pursued Business before he later left to pursue his career in the music industry.
His career began when he was an intern at Uptown Records, where he rose through the ranks before he decided to leave the label in the early 1990’s.
Music Career
In 1993, Diddy founded Bad Boy Records; this label grew to become one of the most successful in hip-hop.
Through Bad Boy Records, Diddy helped launch and develop careers of artists including The Notorious B.I.G., Faith Evans, Mase, 112, and Total.

On the other hand, his debut album No Way Out in 1997 was a commercial success, which earned him a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.

Beyond his music career, Diddy has built a diversified business empire ranging from fashion, beverages, media and television.
He launched the Sean John clothing brand in 1998, which received recognition in the industry and expanded Diddy’s presence beyond just entertainment.
Throughout his career, Diddy has received multiple awards, including Grammy and BET awards, while also being recognised for his influence in the music industry as a producer and entrepreneur.
Legal Challenges
However, in recent years Diddy has faced significant legal challenges which began in 2023. Multiple civil lawsuits were filed against him alleging sexual assault, abuse and other allegations, which he denied entirely.
In September 2024, Federal Authorities arrested Diddy in New York after he was charged with sexual assault, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution, to which he pleaded not guilty.
Personal Life
Sean Combs has never been married. Over the years, he has been in several high-profile relationships, including with model Kim Porter, who died in 2018.

Diddy and Porter had three children together. He also has children from other relationships, making him a father of seven.
