SamSpedy and Wife Simi Announce Pregnancy, Expect First Child

Nigerian content creator SamSpedy, popularly known as Mama Ojo, and his wife have announced that she is pregnant and they are expecting their first child together.

In a video posted on his social media page, they appear to be holding an ultrasound photo and dancing in happiness as they announce an addition to their family.

The two recently got engaged and later married in a lavish wedding ceremony that was all over social media, attended by their close friends and relatives.

SamSpedy whose real name is Samuel Oluwafemi, is known for his comedy skits and his popular “African Home” on YouTube and other social media pages, and has created a large following through his engaging content.

Messages From Fans

Their announcement has therefore attracted congratulatory messages from their fans and friends who are joining them to celebrate their milestone in their relationship.

SamSpedy and his wife Simi Richard have continued to share some bits of their lives on social media with their fan, from their engagement to their wedding and now the pregnancy announcement.

He rose to fame through his content of portraying an African mother featuring in his African Home series, and his character has become one of the most recognizable in comedy.

Mama Ojo first appeared in the African Home series in 2016 and has since featured in almost all of his comedy videos, which have helped him grow to one of the most well-known comedy actors.

His Comedy Career

Additionally, he began his content creation journey in 2012 and officially got into comedy in 2014. He studied medicine at Zaporizhzhia State Medical University in Ukraine.

According to him, he chose to continue with comedy rather than medicine, which is what he studied.

His career has earned him recognition within Nigeria’s digital entertainment industry.

He won the Comedy Skit Awards for Best Skitmaker of the Year in 2022 and later received the Force of YouTube award at the 2024 Trendupp Awards.

He has also received nominations at the Trendupp Awards and Africa Entertainment Awards.

Beyond comedy, he has also produced other kinds of content, including lifestyle vlogs, challenges, and travelling, which has further expanded his audience and following.
