SDA gospel musician Kelsy Kerubo has sparked widespread debate on social media after sharing photos of herself wearing a bikini while on vacation, with the posts drawing mixed reactions from her followers.
The singer, who is known for her faith-based music and church presence, posted the vacation photos on her social media pages, which quickly ignited reactions from her fans and followers.
In the photos she posted, she included a caption saying, “Don’t take me to the church board, guys, I’m on vacation,” which made a lot of people comment, criticizing what she was wearing in the photos.
Netizens Reactions
Many netizens argued in the comment section that the photos do not reflect who she is as a gospel musician who is associated with the SDA church.
“Is this the lady I used to advise daughters to be like? Please, I’m sorry, my children,” Erick said.
Rodgers said, “The problem is not the photo…the problem is showing us what you do behind the curtains…ama siku hizi unaimba ohangla?”

“Even Satan, previously known as Lucifer, began by singing- in fact, the best singer ever known- but suddenly changed and became evil,” said Amos.
Ruthu said, “But still, you can buy a modest swimsuit…who said you should be half naked to the public when on vacation?”
“I saw the other one start like this. Let me remind us that God doesn’t share the table with the devil. That body belongs to your husband. Why advertise it to the hyenas? They will tear you,” Perpetual said.
Positive Comments
However, not all reactions were critical. Some users defended Kerubo, saying that her vacation attire was a personal choice and urged people not to judge her based on what she wore while away from her music ministry.
Moraa said, “And what is wrong with her swimming costume? ama mlitaka aogelee na full dress ya shooting or she is not supposed to juu she is a gospel singer,”
“How can a sinner judge a fellow sinner for sinning differently? Let God judge the individual soul,” said Shaddy.
Josephat said, “Provided you feel good and comfortable, those other things are non-issues. Enjoy while you’re alive.”
“Do what makes you happy; for this life is too short, jaber. You owe no one apologies. Ebu tuone wa kwanza kurusha mawe,” said Vinnie.
Kerubo To Critics
These different reactions from netizens have fuelled discussions online on how people expect gospel musicians to behave and if they can express themselves on social media without facing backlash.
Hours later, Kerubo responded to the backlash, saying the people criticizing her for the photo she posted while on vacation do not support her in her gospel music.

“If you were supporting me like that, I would have released a Gospel song; I wouldn’t be far away, I swear to the world! Or did you say gospel deserves 100 likes? Alright, I know now what you like,” she said.
Further, the discussion remains active online, with supporters and critics continuing to share their views as the photos circulate across social media platforms.
