Skai Jackson Faces Public Outrage After Making Demeaning Comment About Kenya

Skai Jackson is facing public outrage from Kenyans after making remarks suggesting that some Kenyans cannot afford mirrors, therefore they have no idea of what they look like.

Jackson made the comments during a conversation with UK content creator Ysabella Grace at Kai Cenat’s “Streamer University.”

“Mirrors are too expensive in Kenya and some Kenyans do not know their own reflections,” she said.

In the widely circulated video, Jackson said that although the situation was unfortunate, she believed the lack of mirrors meant children were less likely to develop insecurities about their appearance.

After the remarks went viral, it has drawn sharp reactions from Kenyan netizens who termed the comments by Jackie as stereotypical and completely misleading.

Kenyans have questioned the logic behind her claims, stating that she just wants to taint the image of Kenya because those claims lack basis.

Some Kenyans also called on the actress to clarify whether she was referring skato a specific community or experience during her visit rather than making a broad statement about the country.

“Respectfully, let’s leave stereotypes behind. Kenyans own homes, own land, build businesses, earn advanced degrees, and contribute to industries all over the world,” Miriam said.

The story has since spread across multiple social media platforms, with many users creating memes and humorous responses.

Others, on the other hand, criticised what they described as the continued spread of misconceptions about African countries by international celebrities.
