Thieves Raid Home of Florida Couple Killed in Kenya Helicopter Crash

The Florida home of a couple who died in a helicopter crash in Kenya was reportedly robbed days after their deaths, with police recovering luxury vehicles, personal documents, and artwork valued at more than Ksh 64.7 million.

Henry Parra, 55, and Adam Hlavaty, 42, were among seven people killed in a helicopter crash in Samburu County, northern Kenya, on August 19, 2026.

According to Local 10 News, Coral Gables police have arrested a man and a woman in connection with the alleged burglary of the couple’s home.

Florida Couple Killed in Kenya Crash; Stolen Property Recovered

Police said the burglary occurred sometime between Thursday, August 20, and Saturday, August 22, shortly after the couple was killed in the crash.

The suspects were identified as Geybert Alexander Garcia, 40, and Melany Perdomo, 24, who live together in northwest Miami-Dade.

Investigators allege that the pair raided the Florida couple’s residence and took personal and business documents, jewelry, electronics, and artwork, as well as their 2023 Land Rover and 2020 Porsche Taycan.

Thereafter, Police traced some of the stolen property to the suspects’ home using technology linked to the couple’s devices and vehicles, where a signal from a stolen MacBook and location data from the Range Rover reportedly led investigators to the suspects’ residence.

After confirming that the vehicles were outside the property, Coral Gables police and Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search warrant on Tuesday, August 25, and found Garcia hiding in a closet, while Perdomo was found in an upstairs bedroom.

Police said they recovered several documents belonging to the victims, as well as the Range Rover’s key fob and several pieces of artwork, including a sculpture.

Judge Orders Suspects Held Without Bond

After their arrest, the two were taken to court for judgment. However, the case took another turn when Garcia’s attorney presented a document that he said had been signed and certified by the victims, giving Garcia permission to possess the vehicles and enter the property.

However, a family friend of the victims disputed the claim, saying the couple could not have authorised the arrangement because they were in Kenya at the time of their deaths.

The friend also told the court that the house had been damaged during the alleged break-in, including a damaged door and a security camera that had reportedly been removed.

A Coral Gables police detective subsequently testified that he believed the document was fraudulent.

A judge ordered both suspects to be held without bond after questioning the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft and the disputed document.
