Traffic Paralyzed on Argwings Kodhek Road as Protests Erupt in Kilimani

Protests have erupted along Argwings Kodhek Road in Kilimani after county enforcement officers demolished temporary structures along the busy route, disrupting traffic and movement.

The demolition exercise prompted affected traders to barricade sections of the road with burning tyres and metal debris, bringing vehicle and motorcycle traffic to a standstill.

Tensions Rise as Arrests Are Made

Large crowds have gathered in the area as tensions rise between traders and county enforcement officers.

Arrests are being carried out at the scene, while security agencies remain deployed to manage the situation and contain the growing disturbance.

Vehicles and motorcycles heading to and from Nairobi’s Central Business District have been unable to pass through the affected section, causing severe disruption around Chaka Place.

Motorists Advised to Take Alternative Routes

Motorists and commuters have been advised to avoid Argwings Kodhek Road and the Chaka Place area as the situation remains tense.

Lenana Road, Ralph Bunche Road and Ngong Road are among the alternative routes motorists can use to bypass the blockade and avoid delays.

Security agencies remain on the ground as efforts continue to clear the road, manage the crowds and restore normal traffic flow.
