TSC Announces Appointment of New Vice Chairperson

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced the appointment of Sharon Kisire as the new Vice Chairperson of the Commission.
In a statement dated Saturday, May 23, 2026, TSC said Kisire’s appointment took effect from May 21, 2026.
The appointment follows the completion of the tenure of former Vice Chairperson Leila Ali Abdi.
“Following the completion of the tenure of Ms. Leila Ali Abdi, MBS as the Vice Commission Chairperson, the Commission has appointed CS Sharon J. Kisire, MBS as the TSC Vice Commission Chairperson with effect from 21st May 2026,” read part of the statement.
Kenyans Congratulate Sharon Kisire
Following the announcement, several Kenyans took to social media to congratulate Kisire on her new appointment.
Dawood Kulow wrote, “Congratulations, Madam Sharon, for the well-deserved appointment.”

Yatich Zeph said, “Finest HR Specialist. Congratulations, Sharon.”
Bei Daudi Kipkemboi also congratulated her, saying, “Congratulations on fitting this coveted position.”
Another Kenyan, Bonnie Mworia, simply wrote: “Congratulations to her.”
Kisire’s Career and Education Background
Kisire is an experienced human resource professional with years of leadership experience in both the private and public sectors.
She currently serves as the Head of HR Consulting at Powerhouse HR Consulting LLC, a position she has held since 2019.
Before joining the consultancy firm, she worked at Kenya Pipeline Company, where she served as General Manager in charge of Human Resources, Administration, and Security departments.
Kisire also founded the Competence Development Centre (CDC), a human resource consultancy firm that focused on recruitment, mentorship, coaching, and outsourced HR management services.
Over the years, she has also held senior HR positions at Safaricom and Kenya Wildlife Service.

Kisire has an extensive academic background in sociology, criminology, and human resource management.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Kenyatta University, where she also earned a Master of Arts degree in Criminology.
In addition, she obtained a Diploma in Human Resources from the Kenya Institute of Management.
She is also a Certified Public Secretary (CPS-K) through KASNEB and a Certified Governance Auditor with the Institute of Certified Secretaries.
Kisire completed her secondary education at Loreto High School Limuru, where she attained her A-Level certificate.
Kisire was sworn in as a TSC Commissioner on September 6, 2021, alongside four other commissioners for a six-year term.
