Vipingo Industries has denied any link to the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado seen in a viral social media video from the Ol Kalou by-election, stating that the vehicle is not owned by the company.

Vipingo Industries has denied any link to the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado seen in a viral social media video from the Ol Kalou by-election, stating that the vehicle is not owned by the company.

In a statement issued Friday, the company said it owns KDW 600Q but clarified it is a Toyota Probox, not the Prado that features in the trending clip.

“While Vipingo Industries owns a motor vehicle with the same registration number KDW 600Q, our vehicle is, however, a Toyota Probox and not the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado as shown in the video, and we have no connection whatsoever to it or the reported activities and individuals in question,” the statement reads.

The company assured that it has filed the complaint with the police through OB No. 14/18/7/2026 and promised to cooperate with the authorities if asked.

Allegations of Rogue Police and SUVs Linked to Vipingo Industries

The move comes after the vehicle number was traced by the media to the vehicle belonging to Vipingo Industries after video footage of masked, armed men being driven in SUVs was obtained during the by-election.

The videos spread rapidly all-over social media, showing masked men walking amidst other parts of Ol Kalou, while voting was marred by violence.

Residents also indicate incidences of teargassing and intimidation during the exercise.

In relation to the attacks, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua alleged that rogue police officers and goons were mobilized to terrorize the very people who gave them power and who pay taxes through the nose.

“Mr. William Ruto and his homeboys have gone berserk. Tempers are flying, but Kenyans are more annoyed and in pain than ever before since independence.” Gachagua Wrote on X

Allegations of Election Violence: Gachagua Condemns UDA Candidate Attacks and Police Inaction

He stated that voters were attacked in broad daylight, with a death toll of one person and twenty others seriously injured in a futile attempt to force people to vote for the UDA candidate.

Gachagua argued that the group shot at innocent Kenyans from the rooftops of high-end SUVs, something that has never been witnessed anywhere in the world.

“I was also told that our police bosses here have been instructed that under no circumstances should they bother the activities of the rogue squad.” Gachagua added: “And I am told the vehicles that they used here belong to one Hon. Kawanjiku who was caught on video directing and commanding the attacks.”

He concluded, “Bwana CS for Goonism, Kenyans are not fools!”
