Is the Suspected Gangster Killed in Joska Judge Aggrey Muchelule's Son?

Claims linking Court of Appeal Judge Aggrey Muchelule to the deceased suspected gangster Vincent Ochieng, alias Cholla, are FALSE.

A spot check by Hivileo.co.ke found no verified court records or any other credible evidence indicating that Judge Muchelule and Ochieng ever interacted or had any familial relationship.

On 16 July 2026, rumors were circulated widely on X and news blogs after Ochieng was shot dead in Joska during a police shootout.

Messages asserted “sources said Vincent was first a son of Justice Muchelule from his first wife” and presented pictures of Ochieng and the judge together.

Another post read: “New info has come up on suspected gangster Vincent Ochieng who was killed… Sources reveal Vincent was Minister Muchelule’s first son with his first wife.”

Firearm Recovery and Judicial Inquiry: Unconfirmed Links of Vincent Ochieng and Missing Weapons

The police and judiciary have not confirmed the purported link.

As this was going to press, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations or the Judiciary office had not made any statements confirming that Ochieng was related to Justice Muchelule.

What is certain is that one gun was recovered when the Joska operation was reportedly stolen from the judge.

However, this does not in any way prove that the two knew each other or are related.

According to reports, “a pistol reported stolen from Court of Appeal Judge Aggrey Muchelule was recovered during the operation.”

The judge told police he was unaware of how his licensed firearm went missing from his New Kitisuru home.

The Chai Wali Café Robbery: Linking a Recovered Weapon to Multiple County Incidents

Investigators also linked the recovered weapon to the recent Chai Wali Café robbery in Westlands and several other incidents in Nairobi, Kiambu, and Kilifi counties.

The viral claims sparked widespread debate on social media, with some users asking, “Who do we blame here? The single mother who raised him or the absentee father?”

However, fact-checkers found no evidence to support the paternity claim. No court records, family records, or official documents have been presented to prove that Ochieng was the son of Judge Aggrey Muchelule.

Hivileo has established that the rumours are false and have no factual basis.
