Susan Mutami is a Zimbabwean social media personality who has attracted public attention over the years through her outspoken comments and claims involving prominent figures in the country.

Her name has repeatedly featured in several high-profile controversies, particularly on X, where she has built a following through her outspoken views and allegations.

In 2021, Susan Mutami also gained attention in Australia after a profile by ZimLive reported that she had worked as a nurse aide in Australia and had previously raised concerns over the handling of a nursing home resident’s death.

Over the years, she has also claimed relationships with prominent Zimbabwean figures, claims that have been denied, making her a controversial figure in Zimbabwe’s online space.

The social media personality has recently come into the spotlight partly through her public statements about the fate of Wicknell Chivayo, which has attracted widespread attention following his death on September 30, 2026.

What Susan Mutami Post Said About Wicknell Chivayo Death

Susan Mutami is now attracting renewed attention because of a post she made on X in May 2025 involving businessman Wicknell Chivayo.

In one of the posts, published on May 28, 2025, at 9:47 p.m., Mutami predicted that Chivayo would die in a plane crash and urged her followers to save the post for future reference.

The social media personality argued that Chivayo could not deny the allegation because he knew what she was questioning was the truth.

“He knows it’s the truth, and the truth hurts. Wicknell will die in a plane crash very soon. Save this post,” Mutami said.

“He’s actually going to die in a plane crash. Save this post,” Mutami replied to a post on May 28, 2025, at 10:42 pm.

However, the message remained online for more than a year before resurfacing after the death of the businessman in a helicopter crash near Marondera on September 30, 2026.

Following his death, the prediction has since spread widely on social media because of its apparent similarity to the circumstances of Chivayo’s death.

However, although Susan Mutami referred to a plane crash, the aircraft involved in the September 2026 tragedy was a helicopter.

There is no publicly established evidence to show that Susan had advance knowledge of the crash or its circumstances.

Furthermore, reports have highlighted an earlier social media exchange between Mutami and Chivayo noting that after his prediction, the two exchanged messages in May 2025, with the businessman responding before he blocked her.

Why She Is Back in the Spotlight

Meanwhile, Susan Mutami’s name has become of interest because of the timing of her old post and Wicknell Chivayo’s death.

Chivayo, who was a prominent Zimbabwean businessman and founder of Intratrek Zimbabwe, died alongside his wife, Lucy Muteke, and four other people after their helicopter crashed in the Marondera area.

Zimbabwean authorities confirmed that the aircraft had six occupants and that there were no survivors.

ZimLive, one of Zimbabwe’s news outlets, reported that more than half a dozen ambulances were seen travelling from Harare to the crash site as rescue teams responded.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known, as authorities are expected to release more information as investigations into the incident continue.
