A heated online debate has erupted after political commentator Roseline Alionya publicly uploaded her academic transcripts and degree certificate from Machakos University to defend her claim of graduating with First Class honours.

The controversy escalated after remarks aired on Spice FM where panellists dismissed her qualifications and argued that her specialization in Kiswahili and Christian Religious Education (CRE) disqualifies her from contributing to economic discussions in public forums, which made her upload her academic transcripts.

Soon afterward, social media users shifted attention to her uploaded academic documents, especially an accounting unit labelled “Accounting for Liabilities and Equities,” which sparked further debate over interpretation and academic credibility.

Alionya defends First Class Claim

In response, Alionya strongly defended her academic record and demanded full respect for her achievement while accusing critics of misrepresenting her qualifications and fuelling unfair public attacks across digital platforms and broadcast discussions.

“I have never responded to panellists after a show but for that Tribal bigotry, Kenyan anarchist and Entitled little brat I will respond,” she said.

She further rejected claims suggesting that her academic background limits her participation in economic discussions and insisted that Spice FM must withdraw their remarks and issue an apology for what she described as misleading narratives while respecting her academic achievement and public reputation as a First Class graduate.

“‘Alionya has a First Class in Kiswahili and CRE she cannot speak on economic matters’ is a statement you will have to withdraw and apologize,” she stated.

“Spice FM I genuinely deserve a public apology. Not because a First Class in CRE and Kiswahili is negligible but because we need to stop activists and propagandists from using your stations to peddle falsehood. My first class WILL and MUST be respected,” she added.

She shared the statement alongside photos of her transcripts and degree certificate from Machakos University, which she said clearly confirm her First Class result, and the post immediately triggered widespread reactions across social media platforms.

Fans Question Alionya’s Academic Record

On the other side, critics focused on her academic performance and raised doubts about specific details in her transcript, especially the accounting-related unit that became the centre of online scrutiny and argument.

“Accounting For Liabilities and Equities ulipata 0……NUGU,” Seph Billy wrote.

In response, Alionya challenged the interpretation of the claim and questioned the logic behind the criticism while pushing back firmly against the accusation in a direct exchange.

“Haiya Tumia hizo zero tuone mean itakuletea ngapi Mkuu,” Alionya responded.

Other users also demanded clarity regarding her academic grades, while some dismissed her credibility entirely and questioned her suitability for public economic commentary based on the transcript discussions circulating online.

“BAC201, want to see that grade,” Eddie Nyakiash demanded.

“Hii ni nugu tu apo. Amepata zero,” Hon Robert Alfayed added.

Claims of Selective Disclosure Emerge

Meanwhile, some users suggested that she may have selectively shared parts of her academic records, arguing that the posted documents did not provide full transparency regarding her overall academic performance.

“Hii hapa uliuma nje ukaamua public wasione,” Agunyo Saletite said.

At the same time, other users defended her participation in public discourse and argued that academic specialization should not automatically limit contributions to broader national conversations and debates.

“Knowledge is far from wisdom,” Denis Motari wrote.

“Engr Alex: having a first class is differently with what she has in the brain… first class is knowledge acquired while that is in the brain is all about wisdom,” Engr Alex added.
