Why IEBC Is Opening a Fresh Voter Registration Exercise in Ol-Kalou

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced the resumption of continuous voter registration and the commencement of an Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise in Ol-Kalou Constituency, Nyandarua County.
According to the Kenya Gazette published on September 15, the exercise will run for 30 days starting from September 21, 2026 to October 20, 2026.
“IEBC Kenya gives notice that there will be enhanced continuous voter registration of voters from Monday, 21st September to Tuesday, 20th October, 2026, in Ol-Kalou Constituency,” said IEBC.
IEBC says the registration exercise is being conducted under the Constitution of Kenya, the Elections Act, 2011, and the Election (Registration of Voters) Regulations, 2012.
Duration Of Exercise
During the registration period, eligible Kenyan citizens who are 18 years and above and possess a valid national identity card or Kenyan passport will be able to register as voters.
Additionally, registration services under the enhanced exercise will be available daily from Monday to Sunday throughout the registration period.

“Registration services under the ECVR shall be provided daily, from Monday to Sunday during the ECVR registration period,” IEBC said.
In addition, IEBC further directed voters wishing to transfer their registration to another electoral area to present themselves at the constituency office of their preferred electoral area.

Further, those seeking to update or correct their registration details have also been advised to visit the IEBC constituency office where they are currently registered.

Meanwhile, the exercise will be conducted at County Assembly Ward level as well as Constituency Offices, Huduma Centers, Institutions of Higher Learning located within the specified electoral areas and at the Commission’s Customer Experience Center (Ground Floor, Anniversary Towers).
The Commission noted that once the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration exercise concludes, regular continuous voter registration and revision of the register of voters will continue at the Ol-Kalou IEBC Constituency Office from Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., excluding public holidays.
