WPP Scangroup Names Acting Finance Director as CFO Sanjeev Panwar Prepares to Leave

WPP Scangroup Plc has announced changes to its senior finance leadership, with Chief Finance Officer Sanjeev Panwar set to leave the company at the end of 2026 and Alexander Muasya appointed Acting Group Finance Director effective October 1.

In a notice dated September 30, 2026, the advertising and communications company said the changes would align its leadership structure with the current scale and future direction of the business.

“The Board of Directors of WPP Scangroup Plc (the “Company”) is pleased to announce the following finance leadership changes effective from 1st October 2026 as it continues to shape the Company based on the current scale and future direction of the business,” read part of the notice.

Panwar joined WPP Scangroup in June 2008 and became Chief Finance Officer on January 1, 2025.

He will remain with the company until the end of the year to support the transition and ensure a smooth handover.

Sanjeev Panwar to Leave WPP Scangroup After 18 Years

During his 18 years at WPP Scangroup, Panwar contributed to the company’s finance function as it navigated changes in its operating environment.

“On behalf of the Company, the Board extends its sincere appreciation to Sanjeev for his commitment and significant contributions over the past 18 years. He has been a valued partner and dedicated leader, offering valuable insights and expertise as the Company navigated various complex and dynamic operating seasons over the years,” the board stated.

Panwar will continue working with WPP Scangroup until the end of December, giving the company time to complete the transition and hand over his responsibilities.

“The Board is glad to note that Sanjeev will be available until the end of the year to ensure continuity and a smooth handover,” the board added.

Alexander Muasya Takes Over Finance Leadership

Meanwhile, Muasya will lead the finance and accounting function on an interim basis as the Group searches for a permanent Group Finance Director.

Muasya joined Scangroup as Financial Controller in November 2024 and brings 15 years of experience across financial services, consumer industrial markets and consultancy.

Before joining WPP Scangroup, he worked at G4S Kenya Limited, KPMG East Africa and KPMG USA’s Boston office.

Muasya is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.

He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Education in Mathematics and Business Studies, both from the University of Nairobi. He earned First Class Honours in his bachelor’s degree.

As the leadership transition takes place, the board expressed confidence in Muasya’s skills, knowledge and industry experience.

“The Board is confident that the Company will benefit from Mr. Muasya’s skills, knowledge and industry experience and wishes him all the best in his new role in the Company,” the company said.
