Kayole police arrested three suspects and recovered a Retay Falcon pistol, a Ceska pistol magazine with 16 rounds, and 62 mobile phones during a chase and raid in Nairobi’s Eastlands on Tuesday.
Officers from Kayole Police Station spotted a motorcycle carrying a rider and two pillion passengers near Saika stage during a routine patrol.
“The motorcycle sped off into Saika Estate when the riders saw us, triggering an immediate pursuit. We intercepted the motorcycle quickly.” Police stated.
The two pillion passengers jumped off and scattered in different directions, sparking a foot chase through the busy neighbourhood.
During the chase, 19-year-old Shem Kariuki Ondieki dropped an object while fleeing.
Officers cornered and arrested him before returning to inspect the item.
” We found a Retay Falcon pistol on the ground.” Police stated.
The motorcycle rider, 19-year-old Emanuel Maina Kioi, was also arrested at the scene.
Detectives launched a manhunt for the third suspect, who vanished into the sprawling estates of Eastlands.
The trail led officers to Dandora Phase Four, where they stormed a house linked to Samwel Okoth Ochieng and arrested him inside.

A search of the house recovered a Ceska pistol magazine loaded with 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 62 assorted mobile phones, assorted electronic items, a Mercedes-Benz ignition key, and other incriminating materials.
Police said the scale of the recovery suggests the suspects were on a far more dangerous mission than an ordinary boda boda ride.
All three suspects are held at Kayole Police Station, undergoing processing pending arraignment.
