Drama in Uasin Gishu as Suspected Thief Hounded by Bees After ‘Witchcraft’ Ritual

Residents of Shirika Estate, Uasin Gishu county witnessed an odd spectacle when a suspected housebreaker turned himself in to the police while being chased by an unrelenting swarm of bees.

The incident began on Wednesday evening when Mr. Emmanuel Wafula reported a daytime burglary at his home to the Baharini Police Station (OB No. 30/18/12/2025).

According to police records, the thieves made off with a 32-inch Ampex television, a 6kg gas cylinder, and a woofer system, with a combined value of approximately Ksh 30,000.

“It was reported yesterday vide OB No. 30/18/12/2025 at 1945hrs by one Emmanuel Wafula, a Luhya male adult of mobile phone 07073389**, that his house at Shirika Estate MR YR 514516, about 2km south of the station, was broken into during daytime by unknown person(s) who stole from therein one 32-inch Ampex television, a 6kg K-Gas cylinder, and a woofer, all valued at approximately 30,000/=,” Police report read

A Supernatural Turn of Events

Police report further indicated that Mr. Wafula allegedly sought the services of Elizabeth Kashindi, a local herbalist, because he was dissatisfied with the typical investigative timelines.

Ms. Kashindi allegedly carried out a ritual on Friday morning with the intention of expelling the offender.

A male suspect, thought to be in his early 20s, was seen strolling through the streets of Kapsoya with the stolen television and gas cylinder, shocking witnesses.

“A male African suspect aged in his early 20s presented himself carrying the reported stolen items en route to a herbalist’s room at Kapsoya while being followed by a swarm of bees. Officers from Kapsoya Police rescued the suspect and informed the OCS Baharini, who sent his team to join them,” Police report noted.

Resuscitation Ritual

According to the police report, the suspect is currently in a catatonic state and is unable to speak.

“The suspect was relocated to Baharini Police Station while not speaking, pending the performance of another ritual,” the police report stated.

The herbalist, Ms. Kashindi, has informed authorities that it may take up to two days to perform a “resuscitation ritual” to return the suspect to normalcy.

As a result, the complainant and the female herbalist who performed the ritual have been detained at the station pending performance of the resuscitation ritual. Case P.B.C. Stapol Baharini dealing.
