Government pathologists have revealed that 28-year-old Vincent Ayomo died from a gunshot wound sustained during the Kitengela Linda Mwananchi rally on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
The autopsy established that the bullet struck him in the left eye.
It then fractured his spinal cord and caused severe brain damage.
The bullet exited through the back of his head, leading to his death.

Vincent Ayomo, a young man working at a local garage, was described as having committed no crime and provoked no one.
Edwin Sifuna’s Accusitions
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Linda Mwananchi faction, after the incident accused the state of heavy-handedness following the death of a young supporter during his weekend rally.
In a statement issued on February 16, 2026, Sifuna confirmed that 28-year-old Vincent Ayomo was killed during a rally held on Sunday February 15, 2026.
“The Police and state hired goons have, by their violent attacks, killed an innocent Kenyan, namely Vincent Ayomo, gravely injured many others and vandalized the public address system set up for the Kitengela meeting,” Sifuna’s statement read.

According to the Senator, Ayomo was fatally shot by police officers who moved in to disperse the gathered crowd using a combination of teargas and live ammunition.
Edwin Sifuna questioned the reasoning behind his killing: “Why did the police kill him? Because this administration does not value the lives of Kenyans.”

Senator Sifuna was accompanied by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Siaya Governor James Orengo and ODM Deputy Party Leader Godfrey Osotsi among other leaders after he was kicked out as the ODM Secretary General.
