Independence and Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chair Erastus Ethekong has released a statement encouraging Kenyans to avail themselves in order to register, update or confirm their voter registration details before the coming elections.

He is further stating that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will begin on September 29 2025.

The commission further indicates that the registration will take place in any IEBC constituency office across the country except for those that will be having by-elections.

CVR Will Provide the Following Services:

• Voter Registration -News voters will be put on the electoral roll.
• Correction/Update of details -Voters with inaccurate information will be corrected or revised.
• Transfer of Registration -Voters willing to change their their polling stations are allowed to transfer their registration.
• Verification of Details-Registered Voters can confirm their details online

Registration Qualifications
1. Be a Kenyan citizen of age 18 and above
2. One has to have an Identity Card (ID) or passport
3 .Must have not registered before as a voter
4 .Not have been convicted for an election offence in the last five years
5. Not have been declared of unsound mind by a competent authority

IEBC is encouraging all citizens who are qualified to take part in the registration. The motto of the exercise remains “Your vote, your future.”

Kenyans, therefore, have been advised to use verified platforms in order to keep engaging with the commission in order to avoid misinformation.

The commission emphasized that its only commitment is to ensure a credible and transparent electoral process as the country prepares for the upcoming by-elections scheduled for November 27 2025.
