Office of Auditor-General Announces 195 Job Opportunities: How to Apply

Share

The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) has announced 195 job vacancies in various departments, calling on qualified Kenyans to apply before the set deadline.

In an advertisement published on Monday, the OAG said the recruitment drive is in line with its constitutional mandate of ensuring accountability in the use of public resources.

“The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) is an Independent Office established under Article 229 of the Constitution of Kenya. The Office is charged with the primary oversight role of ensuring accountability in the use of public resources within the three arms of government as well as other public-funded entities,” the notice read.

Positions Available

According to the advertisement, the openings range from senior-level to entry-level positions.

The highest-ranking vacancies include two slots for Deputy Auditor-General (OAG 2), one Principal Legal Officer, one Principal Communications Officer, and two Principal Internal Auditors.

Other positions include four Senior Internal Auditors, six Finance Officers II, three ICT Officers II (Security), and one Communications Officer II.

The bulk of the opportunities, however, are at the Audit Associate II level, with 150 positions available.

In addition, the office is seeking to hire 15 Drivers and 10 Office Assistants to support its operations across the country.

Application Process

Interested applicants have been advised to visit the OAG website, www.oagkenya.go.ke, for detailed job descriptions and the application procedure.

“All applications must be emailed to the address provided. No physical or paper applications will be accepted,” the office stated.

Applicants are required to submit a duly filled application form, copies of academic and professional certificates, a curriculum vitae, and relevant testimonials.

Successful candidates will later be expected to provide clearance certificates from five key bodies: the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Credit Reference Bureau, Kenya Revenue Authority, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and the Higher Education Loans Board where applicable.

Deadline and Guidelines

The OAG emphasized that the deadline for submitting applications is October 15, 2025. “It is a criminal offence to provide false information and/or fake documents in the job applications.

The Office shall take appropriate action on any applicant who shall be found to have presented false information and/or fake documents,” the notice warned.

In line with its constitutional obligations, the OAG said it is an equal opportunity employer, encouraging women and persons with disabilities to apply.

The office further cautioned that canvassing in any form would lead to automatic disqualification, adding that only shortlisted and successful candidates would be contacted.

This latest recruitment is expected to strengthen the OAG’s capacity to audit public institutions and enhance accountability in the management of taxpayer funds.
