Passengers travelling through Kenya Airways are experiencing delays and disruptions following low visibility conditions at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
In a customer update issued on April 10, 2026, the airline announced that the weather conditions had affected both departures and arrivals at the country’s main airport.
The situation has forced the airline to implement contingency measures, including diverting some flights to Moi International Airport.
“We wish to inform our customers to expect some flight delays for departures and arrivals due to low visibility affecting operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO),” the airline said in the statement.
The disruption comes as reduced visibility continues to pose operational challenges in Nairobi’s airspace, affecting scheduling and aircraft movement.
Kenya Airways confirmed that several flights could not land at JKIA as scheduled and had to be redirected to Mombasa as a precautionary measure.
“Some of our flights have been diverted to Moi International Airport, Mombasa,” the statement added.

“Our teams are closely monitoring the situation and will adjust our flight network and operations as soon the weather conditions improve,” the statement read.
