Hotel at Dari Business Park Closed Amid Ongoing Tuju–EADB Dispute

Operations at a restaurant located within Dari Business Park have been suspended, as an ongoing dispute involving businessman Raphael Tuju and the East African Development Bank (EADB) continues to impact access to the premises.

In a statement issued to the public on April 29, 2026, Tamarind Group confirmed the closure of its Tamarind Brasserie Restaurant, stating that the closure was due to circumstances beyond its control.

Tamarind which has been operating at the business park, is now inaccessible due to the conflict between Dari Limited and the EADB.

Dispute Between Dari Business Park And EADB

According to the statement, the dispute has made it impossible for Tamarind to continue its operations at the location.

Tamarind Group expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to its customers.

Tamarind noted that the decision to shut down was not voluntary but necessary due to the situation on the ground.

The closure of Tamarind comes amid the long-running legal and financial dispute surrounding Dari Business Park, a property associated with Raphael Tuju.

Other Tamarind Restaurants Remain Open

The disagreement between Dari Limited and the East African Development Bank has, in recent months, drawn public attention, with access and control of the property emerging as key points regarding the matter.

Tamarind Group, however, has reassured its clientele that the shutdown is only affecting the Dari Business Park outlet.

The restaurant confirmed that its other establishments remain operational and continue to serve customers as usual.

Restaurant Seeks New Location

They further noted that they are trying to find a new location to continue their business.

“We are actively seeking suitable alternative premises,” part of the statement read.

Tamarind added that any updates will be communicated once they have completed relocation plans.

Tamarind also thanked its customers in its statement for their loyalty over the years, acknowledging the role patrons have played in its operations.

While the dispute remains unresolved, businesses operating within the affected property appear to be bearing the immediate impact.
