Thousands of Kenyans stare at job losses after the government announced dissolution of at least 109 companies.

The government via the Registrar of Companies announced this move in gazette notice on Friday, October 3 2025.

Inside the gazette notice, Deputy Registrar of Companies Hiram Gachugi announced that the companies ceased to operate in the country effective September 29, 2025.

“Pursuant to section 897 (4) of the Companies Act, it is notified for the information of the general public that the following companies are dissolved and their names have been struck off the Register of Companies with effect from the date of publication of this notice,” read the notice in part.

List of Companies to be Dissolved

The list of companies highlighted comprises of wide range of sectors like construction, real estate, hospitality, technology, consultancy and logistics.

Firms affected by this government announced is Alba Property Management Limited, Champagne Ridge Villas Limited, Karen Redbrick Hotel Limited, Stargate Scientific EA Limited, and Rak Ceramics and Sanitary Ware Limited.

Additional others include Finsight Kenya Limited Grandala Builders, and Contractors Limited, Goodison Seventy Four Limited, Mbao Pension Limited, Nurture Vocational Training Center Limited, and Streamline Your Business Info Limited.

The dissolved companies will affect various service industries including education, insurance, travel, and financial consulting, such as Shelly Academy Limited, Scanner Insurance Broker Limited, and Tia Capital Limited.

Additionally, the Registrar of Companies has announced plans to dissolve 81 firms in Kenya and he has given them a period of three-months to comply by presenting their objections before they are struck off the official register.

“Pursuant to section 897 (3) of the Companies Act, the Registrar of Companies gives notice that the names of the companies specified hereunder shall be struck off from the Register of Companies at the expiry of three months from the date of publication of this notice, and invites any person to show cause why the companies should not be struck off from the Register of Companies,” read the notice in part.
