The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has issued a second call for applications and revision of courses for students seeking placement into universities and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
In a notice dated Saturday, May 16, 2026, KUCCPS announced that its online application portal had been reopened to allow Form Four leavers to either revise their university choices or make fresh applications.
“The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) application system is now open for Form Four leavers to revise their university choices or make new applications,” said KUCCPS.
The application system will remain open from May 16 to May 22, 2026.
KUCCPS said the decision follows the conclusion of the first application phase that closed on May 6, 2026.
According to the placement agency CEO, applicants who secured provisional placement into degree programmes have already been notified through SMS messages and the KUCCPS portal, while unsuccessful applicants have been invited to revise their course choices.
“We call upon all 2025 Form Four leavers who qualified for degree programmes but have not applied for placement, and those who applied but have not secured a course, to log into the system and apply again,” said Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome.

KUCCPS revealed that 212,510 students who scored C+ and above in the 2025 KCSE examination had applied for various courses during the first application phase. This represents 79.1% of the 268,714 Kenyan citizens who attained the minimum university entry grade.
The placement service further noted that highly competitive degree programmes such as Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Engineering were filled during the first application due to limited spaces and high demand.
As a result, the programmes have since been removed from the application portal.
“We encourage students who applied for these programmes but missed them due to competition to apply for available programmes,” KUCCPS stated.
At the same time, KUCCPS said it is continuing with placement to TVET institutions, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and Kenya Utalii College.
Available KMTC diploma programmes include Community Health, Mortuary Science, Health Records and Information Technology, Medical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physiotherapy and Public Health, among others. Eight certificate courses are also available on a rolling basis until slots are filled.

However, programmes such as Nursing, Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy are currently unavailable and will only be offered during the September intake.
At Kenya Utalii College, available programmes include Diploma in Housekeeping and Laundry Management, Certificate in Front Office Operations and Certificate in Housekeeping and Laundry Operations.
KUCCPS said the programmes are open to students who sat KCSE examinations between 2000 and 2025.
To support applicants, KUCCPS and KMTC have deployed career guidance officers in 23 KMTC campuses across the country to assist students seeking placement.
Additionally, KUCCPS has partnered with Huduma Kenya to extend placement services to all 59 Huduma Centres countrywide, where trained officers will help applicants with course applications and revisions.
