Laikipia University Announces 14 Job Vacancies Across Several Departments

Laikipia University has announced 14 employment opportunities in different departments as the institution seeks to strengthen its workforce.

In a public notice released by the Office of the Registrar Administration and Human Capital on May 19,2026, the university invited qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the vacant positions.

The university said the jobs are available under the Division of Administration, Finance and Planning as well as the Division of Academics, Research and Students Affairs.

Positions Available 

Among the advertised positions are Fleet Driver I, ICT Officer II, Senior Procurement Officer, Technologist and Lecturer positions in different schools and departments.

The vacancies include:

• Fleet Driver I – Grade AD 4
• ICT Officer II – Specialist in Programming/System Development
• ICT Officer II – Specialist in Networking
• Senior Procurement Officer – Supplies Management
• Technologist – Educational Technologist Specialist
• Lecturer – Sociology of Education
• Technologist -GIS Technology Specialist
• Senior Lecturer – Agricultural Economics
• Lecturer – Agricultural Engineering
• Lecturer – Horticulture
• Lecturer – Animal Production
• Lecturer -History
• Lecturer – Religion

The university noted that some of the positions are on contract terms while others are permanent and pensionable.

Laikipia University Invites Qualified Professionals

According to the notice, Laikipia University said it is looking for “suitably qualified, visionary, competent, dynamic and experienced professionals” to fill the positions.

The institution described itself as a premier university that offers a serene environment for teaching, learning and academic excellence.

“The University’s vision is to nurture and transform for the world,” the notice stated.

The institution added that its mission is to contribute to the world through education, research, training, consultancy, innovation, outreach and collaboration.

Application Requirements

Applicants are required to submit five hard copies of their applications to the Registrar Administration and Human Capital at the university’s Nyahururu campus.

Candidates must also send a running PDF soft copy of the application documents through the university recruitment email.

The university further stated that successful candidates will be required to obtain clearance certificates from agencies including:

• Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
• Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
• Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
• Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
• Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

Application Deadline

Laikipia University said applications must be received by Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

“Applications received after Tuesday, 9th June, 2026 will NOT be accepted and/or processed,” the notice stated.

The university also encouraged applications from persons living with disabilities and individuals from marginalized groups and areas.
