The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) Executive Committee has approved Senegal as the official host of the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2026.

CAF said the decision reflects confidence in Senegal’s ability to deliver top-level sporting events across Africa.

“The approval of Senegal as host confirms CAF’s trust in the country’s capacity to organize world-class competitions and promote the growth of beach soccer in Africa,” CAF stated.

Senegal Strong Beach Soccer Legacy

Senegal is one of Africa’s most successful beach soccer nations.

The country has won the CAF Beach Soccer AFCON five times in a row, including the 2024 edition held in Egypt.

This strong record has made Senegal a dominant force in African beach soccer and a natural choice for hosting major tournaments.

Eight Teams to Compete

The 2026 tournament will bring together eight of Africa’s top beach soccer teams.

They will compete for continental glory and a place on the global stage.

The competition will also serve as a qualification pathway for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2027, making it highly competitive and important for all participating nations.

CAF is expected to announce the qualification schedule in the coming months.

Senegal’s Experience as Host

This will not be the first time Senegal hosts the tournament.

The country also hosted the 2021 edition of the CAF Beach Soccer AFCON.

With that experience and strong football infrastructure, Senegal is expected to deliver a smooth and exciting tournament once again.

Growing the Sport in Africa

CAF continues to use the Beach Soccer AFCON to grow the sport across the continent.

Since its launch in 2006, the competition has played a key role in developing talent and increasing Africa’s presence in global beach soccer.

The tournament has also followed the FIFA World Cup cycle, ensuring African teams remain competitive on the world stage.
