Nyeri County Announces Mass Job Hiring, Including Internships

Over 370 vacant and intern positions in several departments have been opened for application by the County Government of Nyeri in one of the county’s largest recruitment efforts this year.
The posts which targeted suitable and qualified Kenyan citizens for the positions in the fields of agriculture, health, finance, engineering, administration and various technical areas were announced on Wednesday by the County Public Service Board.
All applications were to be delivered to their offices on or before June 10, 2026 at 5 p.m.
“370 and above (370) vacancies for interns, the full details of requirements for engagement as interns can be accessed on the County Website http://www.nyeri.go.ke“, stated the county government.

Distribution of Vacant Jobs Across Departments
The vacant jobs are distributed across six departments.
The departments include:
- Department of Agriculture
- Livestock and Aquaculture requiring the employment of Agricultural Officers
- Livestock Production Officers
- Veterinary Officers and Fisheries Office
The Office of the County Secretary also seeks the services of performance analysts and assistant inspectorate officers.
The office of the County Attorney needs a county solicitor and a legal officer, while accountants, internal auditors, and IT officers are needed in the Department of Finance, Economic Planning and ICT.
Water, Environment and Climate Change, and Public Service and Solid waste management departments also called for applications for a number of technical and inspection jobs.

Job Openings and Application Process
A section in the advertisement called for applications of previously advertised positions at senior management level in the medical services and public health directorate, the vacant posts requiring employment of a registered nurse and the service of Senior Assistant Director, Medical Services.
The Department of Education, Training and Devolution has only one opening, for the Youth Polytechnic Instructor, while the Director of Valuation and Housing post is available in the Department of Lands, Housing and Physical Planning.
The board stated that employees will be hired on a three-year contract and warned applicants against being conned since no application fees were charged.

Applicants are to fill in a stipulated application form, submit it with photocopies of their academic and professional certificates to their offices.
